AIRAI STATE MAPS

The Palauan archipelago is located in westernmost Micronesia, 740 km east of the Philippines

and 1,300 km southwest of Guam.

Palau has over 500 islands and atolls, the largest of which is Babeldaob Island.  There are 20 large islands.  Airai State is located at the southern tip of Babeldaob and is the gateway to the provisional capitol of Palau, Koror.

Not shown in this map are Kayangel Island to the north, and Peleliu and Angaur Islands to the south.  For more information about other regions of Palau, visit the Palau Visitors Authority web site.

Japan-Palau Friendship Bridge to Koror, the Palau International Airport, Airai Elementary School, Ngerikiil River, and various villages of the state.

Airai State contains a number of traditional village sites, which were mainly located on the coastal communities.  Much of Airai's coastline is protected by mangrove and fringed by coral reefs.
