Camp Katuu |
The presence and services of U.S. Civic
Action Team (CAT) and/or U.S. Seabees in Palau is over thirty years.
During the long dedicated years of service in Palau, the CAT have
contributed numerous and valued technical assistances, apprentice
training programs, and medical assistances to the people and
infrastructure
of the Republic of Palau.

The CAT has a different mission than a normal Seabee Team would have on deployment. They provide community construction to support the development of Palau. The Seabees manage an Apprentice Training Program to assist and train the local population in general construction skills. The Medical Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) in camp and outlying areas provide health education and medical treatment for residents. They also participate in Community Relations (COMREL) to provide a positive U.S. presence and continue a great relationship between the two countries. The CAT have completed many MEDCAPs around the islands, and recently completed a COMREL project for the Airai Elementary School and Central Community Health Center in Airai. | ||
