CULTURE

Despite the influence of generations of explorers, traders, soldiers, and administration from several nations, Palauans still maintain the cultural traditions that makes it unique in the Pacific. It is a continuing goal to sustain all cultural aspects to maintain the eccentric identity of Airai. Through language (oral histories), song, dance, way of living, customs, upholding traditional values in respect to Traditional Leaders, and maintenance of cultural sites, Airai citizens keep their heritage alive.  If there is one thing we as Palauans believe in, it is a person's "Klechiibelau", meaning one's heritage which makes us unique amongst the many greater nations.
