The Department of Tourism is generally responsible for planning,
developing, and implementing programs and projects
to promote activities and attractions that will best express, serve,
and appeal to Visitors the exceptional treasures of Airai State. The State of Airai proudly owns several
fascinating
natural
resources, such as the splendid rock islands ringed with white
sand beaches, spectacular caves, tranquil watersheds, including intriguing and valuable historical and
cultural sites that
portrays its uniqueness and precious heritage in contribution
to the peculiar culture and people of the enchanted islands of the Republic of Palau. Some of the
cultural sites include the
Airai Bai, Stone-pathways and Platforms, and World War II
sites, artifacts and relics, and much more. The main objective
of this department is to present and guide visitors while visiting,
experiencing, and enjoying the pleasant natural and cultural
treasures that Airai State has to offer. Additional primary
goal of the Department of Tourism is to enlighten and educate the
younger citizens and/or present generation of Airai about the
importance of recognizing and appreciating the essential
natural and cultural sustainability of Airai State
Resources and Heritage as depiction of our genuine identity.
In close collaboration with
Palau Visitor's Authority, it is a continuing ambition of
this department to exceeds the state's visitors/guests satisfaction
and expectation by developing and improving programs and services to
strengthen the hospitality and relations between Airai State and its
valuable Visitors.
