The Department of Historic and Cultural Preservation is actively
implementing programs that promote preservation and protection
of historical resources including cultural related affairs of Airai
State. The main objective of the Department of Historic and Cultural
Preservation is to ensure the protection and sustainability of every
cultural and historical resource circumstances of Airai. The
Department of Historic and Cultural Preservation is responsible to
develop programs that promote, protect, and preserve all historical
and cultural aspects encompassing tangible and intangible
historic/cultural resources including, sites, oral histories,
traditional arts and diverse artistic skills relating to Airai
State. With compulsory protection and preservation of all historical
and cultural heritage of Airai, it is a continuing goal to sustain
the genuine identity of Airai while recognizing the potentials for
these resources as educational and fascinating to the present and
future generations and also visitors of Airai State.
The Department of Historic and Cultural Preservation
programs and projects are organized and implemented by Mr. Vince Blaiyok,
as Coordinator, with the dedicated assistances of two staffs, Ms. Remurang Rengulbai, Assistant Coordinator, and Ms. Elsabeth
