The Council of Chiefs composed of one traditional chiefs from each hamlet of Airai State, namely Ngiraked, Tuchermel, Ngirachitei, Iyechaderteluang, Spis, and Techedib.  The Council of Chiefs has an important role in the Airai State Government in accordance with the Airai State Constitution.  The Council of Chiefs advises the Governor on matters concerning traditional laws, customs and their relationship to the Constitution and the laws of Airai State.

 

Council of Chiefs consists of six (6) Chief Members as follows:

1	Chief Ngiraked of Ordomel Hamlet
2	Chief Tuchermel Geggie B. Anson of Ngerusar Hamlet
3	Chief Ngirachitei Dr. Victor M. Yano of Oikull Hamlet
4	Chief Spis Seklii Ngiralmau of Ngchesechang Hamlet
5	Chief Iyechaderteluang Toribiong Tell of Ngeruluobel Hamlet
6	Chief Techedib of Ngetkib Hamlet
